The teachers of Sindh University have elected their representatives on the four seats of professor, associate professor, assistant professor and lecturer for the varsity syndicate in the elections held on Wednesday.
Dr Pervez Pathan, Dr Arfana Mallah, Umeed Ali Rind and Dr Hyder Ali Nizmani have been elected against these positions, respectively. A total of 51 votes were polled for professor, 45 for associate professor, 176 for assistant professor and 177 for lecturer.
Dr Azhar Ali Shah, whose reformist panel lost to Dr Mallah’s Sufi panel, accused the university administration of rigging the elections in favour of the winners. However, the university clarified that the voting process was kept transparent.
