KARACHI: KPT cruised to the final of the Patron’s Trophy Grade II after their three-day semi-final match against K-Electric ended in a draw at the National Stadium in Karachi on Thursday.

K-Electric resumed their second innings on 57-0 and added 203 runs for a loss of nine wickets before declaring their innings after 37 overs. Ramiz Raja Jr scored 70 runs off 63 balls, with Said Shakeel scoring 63 off 47.

KPT’s Bilawal dismissed five K-Electric batsmen with Mansoor Ahmed taking three. KPT batsmen were only able to add 158-4 in 56 overs with the help of Faisal Khan (56) and Nadim Javed (53) as the match was drawn.

KPT progressed into the final, courtesy of their first-innings score of 397 in reply to K-Electric’s 393, and will now play against Omar Associates in the final on Sunday at the National Stadium in Karachi.

“Both teams worked really hard to make their place in the final,” K-Electric captain Ramiz told The Express Tribune. “We set them a good target, but were unable to bowl them out to win the match.”

Meanwhile, KPT’s wicket-keeper captain Muhammad Hassan praised the ground’s condition. “The pitch worked in our favour both in our first innings and the second,” he said, adding that they will have an edge over Omar Associates in the final as they are now used to playing at the ground.
