ISLAMABAD:

A porter of the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) at the Benazir Bhutto International Airport won accolades by returning a lost hand bag to the owner.

CAA spokesperson Mubarak Shah said that a passenger, Muhammad Mahmood, a resident of Gujar Khan, who arrived from Dubai on Friday evening via a private airline, left his bag in a trolley in the car park area.

While retrieving baggage trollies from the parking lot, Zahid Abbas, a CAA porter, found the bag and brought it to his supervisor, who checked it and found a telephone number for the passenger on it, and informed the owner.

The bag contained a video camera, mobile phones, and documents. The owner came to collect the bag and appreciated the airport staff for their professionalism. Abbas said it was his duty to inform his supervisor about any lost or found items.

Meanwhile, visitors to Benazir Bhutto International Airport have complained about the ban its administration has put on the people coming to receive or see off their relatives. The administration used to charge the people accompanying the passengers but now has completely banned the visitors through its pedestrian gate.
